In view of the renewed severity of COVID-19, the Hong Kong SAR Government announced on November 30th a new round of anti-epidemic measures, including the suspension of public entertainment from December 2th for two weeks. As Ocean Park and Hong Kong Disneyland are places of public entertainment, the two major theme parks will also be closed, which will be the third time this year that they have been temporarily closed.
Responding to questions at a press conference, the Secretary for Food and Health of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Mr Chan Shiu-shih, said that Disneyland and Ocean Park in Hong Kong should be closed under the new epidemic prevention arrangements.
Ocean Park responded that the park has been closed since December 2th until further notice. Visitors who have purchased tickets or registered for park activities on the affected dates from the Park ticket Office or the official website may retain the tickets and the confirmation of registration for direct contact with the Park for ticket exchange or refund.
Hong Kong Disneyland has also released an update on the official WeChat ID. In response to the government's request and the current epidemic prevention measures in Hong Kong, the park will suspend its opening as scheduled.
